Using a restored Vulcan gas oven and traditional copper jam pots, Fairywood Thicket Farm, located in Fairburn, GA, uses the fruits, herbs and flowers harvested from their land, from their neighbors, and from local farmers to create a charming line homemade jams, jellies, and chutneys.

"This whole adventure was an accident. An unintentional blessing. We set out to clear out horse pasture, and discovered what we were trying to cut down was Elderberry. The folks explain what it was and said they would clear our pasture for free if we waited for the elderberry to ripen. Our kids needed to do a sustainable science project. So... we made Elderberry jelly. The kids won their science fair. We gave some away, and it got to a small local farmers market, then we got invited and people loved it. So we kept making it and then we made pear jam from our family trees, and then pepper jelly, and one thing led to another and it more fed into the 72 plus flavors and far reaching business we are today. We have and will always be a family adventure, steering clear of co-packers, artificial ingredients and food coloring. Our goal is to support local, grow and source local as much as possible. The coolest thing is that each time we out grow our shell so to speak, whatever is needed is always waiting for us from space, new ideas equipment or an incredible opportunity, says Kim Conner, co-founder of Fairywood Thicket Farms.

Fairy-wood Thicket Farms specialties have grown from one spectacular Jelly, Elderberry (Mother Elder), to a unique group of hand-made Jams, Jellies and Chutneys, using an ever expanding selection of special fruits, hot peppers, and flowers. Our fruits come from a variety of sources, including our farm, other local farmers that we barter with, local folks that have fruit trees growing on their land, and wild harvest.

We also thank you for participating in our social experiment! What we ask of you, is for you to buy from us what you would purchase somewhere else, and pay us any fair price of your choosing. We will respond with an acceptance, rejection or a counter offer within 24 hours. If You don’t have means or money to afford great food, or any food at all, then you are our Platinum Club customer. Just pay what you can. We believe in our fellow humans and in a hunger free world. If we make profits, then we will use those profits to sustain our free food giving or investing in social causes. If we lose money, then we will have to close down. It's that simple. We do hope to be profitable enough to at least pay our employees, bills, and all other operational expenses, but we also hope to generate substantial revenue and profits, so we can end our country's child and family hunger crisis and create positive, widespread, and sustainable social change throughout our community and our world! A world free of hunger is not such a "Ridiculous idea" after-all.
